Procera Networks Introduces OptimIP Network Appliance Suite to Secure, Control and Optimize Business Networks

Campbell, CA: July 29, 2004 -- Procera Networks (OTC Bulletin Board: PRNW-News), a pioneering developer of optimized network security and compliance systems, announced its OptimIP suite — a new class of intelligent network appliances designed to protect, control and optimize business networks. OptimIP enables businesses of every size to achieve immediate and measurable productivity gains at the lowest total cost of ownership. The OptimIP suite can eliminate internal network security breaches, significantly reduce exposure from Internet misuse and abuse, enable selective data archiving for corporate governance and regulatory compliance, and accelerate the performance of critical business applications.

"Let’s face it, when it comes to network security breaches, compliance requirements, and Internet misuse, today’s business networks are in shambles." said Dr. Anil K. Sahai, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. "We developed OptimIP to give back to companies the control and command they have lost over their internal business network resources. Our intelligent network appliance solutions can be implemented quickly and unobtrusively. For example, companies can deploy the OptimIP platform to immediately halt the spread of viruses like MyDoom by stopping every virus-initiated request from infected machines and even identifying the source address of the machine that initiated the virus. Using our new OptimIP network appliance suite, businesses can achieve what we like to call Optimum Intelligent Protection."

The OptimIP family is a modular suite of appliance-class systems that can be used individually or combined on Procera's wire-speed platform:

  • Advanced Protection for Internal Business Networks — ProceraWatch provides internal security behind the firewall and allows organizations to secure network-based applications as well as wireless networks. ProceraWatch also empowers businesses to increase productivity by selectively controlling or restricting network abuse and misuse such as peer-to-peer downloading, audio/video streaming, instant messaging, web mail, and access to non-business web sites and newsgroups.
  • Archival Compliance for Corporate Governance — ProceraTap enables businesses to selectively retain and archive critical information for corporate governance and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. ProceraTap also provides wire-speed network visibility, monitoring and archiving by enabling real-time selective traffic mirroring.
  • Accelerated Performance for Business Applications — ProceraApp optimizes and accelerates the performance of business-critical applications by prioritizing and reserving network bandwidth.

"Procera’s OptimIP is uniquely positioned and stands out with its infrastructure and security solutions because it is designed specifically to protect and optimize internal business networks," said Tim Burke, President and CEO of Quest, a Procera VAR. "The OptimIP suite of appliances provides a fully integrated set of solutions at an operating cost that is far lower than conventional point-product solutions that require complex configuration, integration, maintenance and support and lack business-driven policy control."

The OptimIP suite can be very easily installed, deployed and managed. An intuitive GUI enables even a non-technical administrator to define business-driven policies. OptimIP appliances are available in modular configurations to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses as well as enterprise departments and branch offices.

"Procera’s OptimIP is a very easy to use product that improves the performance of our critical Citrix applications using QoS prioritization," said Aaron Smith, IT Systems Administrator for ACM Aviation. "It blocks inappropriate, non-business network usage. It installed in 15 minutes and policies were very easy to configure."

"Procera’s OptimIP plays a key role in our ability to fully manage our network resources," said John Dziembowski, Vice President, Information Systems at Savers Bank. "The intelligent content control in a wire-speed network appliance is truly remarkable."

Pricing and Availability: OptimIP appliances are priced starting at $3,495 and are available immediately.
