Quest Wins 800-Lb. Gorilla Award

Award recognizes Service Providers that have earned $10 million in Managed Services

Sacramento, CA: May 15, 2006 -- Quest today announced it has won the 800-lb. Gorilla Award from SilverBack Technologies. Quest achieved $10 million or more in annual revenues by providing excellent remote managed services to its wide customer base including financial IT services, healthcare IT solutions and education.

"The movement to managed services is nothing short of a profound transformation in the IT channel," said Pedro Pereira, editor, Channel Insider, a Ziff-Davis publication.

Managed service providers (MSPs) are the fastest-growing segment among IT providers looking to break out of low-margin hardware sales. MSPs can realize recurring revenue streams and develop more intimate relationships with their technology buyers and customers, which ultimately leads to more technology sales and services.

"By offering monthly automated network monitoring and problem resolution on servers, applications and network devices, we are building stronger customer relationships that transcend simple product sales," said Tim Burke, CEO, Quest.

Managed services are built on an annuity-type model where resellers, VARs or distributors can enter into monthly retainer relationships with their customers for IT services. Managed Services are conducted remotely and include monitoring, alerting, remediation, patch management, vulnerability scanning and automated management of any networked, IP-addressed device or application.

"The 800-lb Gorilla Award is our way of recognizing these outstanding companies that have expanded their services business and, in some cases, completely transformed their business models to embrace the lucrative field of remote managed services," stated Dan Phillips, CEO, SilverBack. "This is only the tip of the iceberg. Some of our partners are doing in excess of $20 million yearly in managed services. All of our partners are expected to grow 20 to 30 percent this year."

The Gorilla Awards were presented by Mr. Phillips at the company’s annual user conference in Orlando, Florida, May 11-12.
