Quest Expands Data Center Space at McClellan
Sacramento, CA: May 3, 2011— Quest is
pleased to announce completion of the Phase 4 expansion of
its highly secure and resilient Service Delivery Center
(SDC) located at the former McClellan Air Force Base, just
outside Sacramento. Quest’s McClellan SDC is ready to
fulfill customers’ needs with an additional 10,000 square
feet of fully operational space offering an all-new
networking, electrical, and environmental conditioning
infrastructure.
This latest expansion will soon be followed by Phase 5 and
Phase 6 expansions at the McClellan facility. The Phase 5
expansion will be completed by August, adding another 20,000
square feet of capacity dedicated to both SDC co-location
and Quest’s Business Resumption Center (BRC). Phase 6,
currently in planning, will bring Quest customers yet
another 30,000 square feet of new space.
Quest chose to locate its SDC/BRC at McClellan because the
site is one of the most seismically stable locations in
California and is outside the Sacramento flood zone.
McClellan also offers one of the state’s most advanced fiber
optic cable and redundant broadband infrastructures.
Quest’s McClellan facility houses a Network Operations
Center (NOC), a large and growing amount of data center
co-location space and sizable business work areas.
“I’ve visited premier data centers all over this country and
Quest’s facility at McClellan is second to none," says
Clayton Pippenger, President of Versabill, a Quest customer.
The McClellan site is one of nearly two dozen Quest Service
Delivery Centers across the nation providing affordable,
leading-edge IT capability.
“Our Service Delivery Centers incorporate an entire spectrum
of IT capabilities,” notes Tim Burke, President and CEO of
Quest, “including data center co-location, NOC, and BRC
functions. From our Service Delivery Centers we’re able to
offer a vast array of hosted and business continuity
services as well as local and remote monitoring and
management of customers’ systems, networks, and application
environments. We provide the space where customers can
securely house their equipment or can relocate operations in
the event of a disaster.”
Quest’s expansion of the McClellan Service Delivery Center
will provide the stable, long-term availability and
scalability that customers seek.
“We find our customers appreciate having so much capability
available at a Quest Service Delivery Center,” says Mr.
Burke. “We’ve made it easy for them to choose precisely the
IT capabilities they need. And we’ve made it straightforward
to integrate existing capabilities and layer on new ones as
needed with the help of our many experts. Each customer has
different requirements, and Quest has the flexibility to
meet them efficiently and effectively.”
