Quest Improves Its Rank Among Top Providers of Information Technology Services

Sacramento-based Quest is Ranked Number 296 — Up From Last Year's Ranking of 312

Sacramento, CA: August 2, 2002 — Quest, a technology consulting and management firm, has been named to the 2002 VARBusiness 500, the industry’s definitive ranking by revenue of the top 500 North American solution providers, consultants, integrators and Internet services companies. With 2001 revenues of $75 million, Quest moved up the list with a ranking of 296 — up sixteen positions from last year's ranking of 312.

"I am proud to see Quest’s name on the VARBusiness 500 list again this year," said Tim Burke, Quest CEO. "It is an honor to be recognized for our exceptional service and ranked among the nation’s leading solutions providers. This list is definitely the best of the best."

First published fourteen years ago, VARBusiness selects companies for its list following an exhaustive research effort. Editors study the business models and finances of all North American IT professional services organizations. Their data is independently verified, including all figures and sources of revenue figures. Once compiled, the list is narrowed down to the top 500 companies based on revenues from technology consulting, services and products.

"The VARBusiness 500 — from IBM Global Services’ $35 billion to Computech Resources’ $22.3 million — is the most comprehensive listing of the leading IT professional services firms in the industry," said Michael R. Uliss, Publisher of VARBusiness. "With over $320 billion in combined revenue in 2001, the members of the 2002 VARBusiness 500 are an economic powerhouse."

Quest’s 2002 ranking is the company’s fourth consecutive appearance among the VARBusiness 500. The rise in Quest’s ranking is particularly significant given the present softness of the economy and the disappearance of many competitors in the present marketplace. Quest joins a shortlist of companies that have reacted quickly to the tougher market conditions and adapted their business models accordingly.

Quest remains the number one independent IT professional service company in Northern California and one of the top in the nation.
