It’s a new year, that moment for both reflection on the year gone by and anticipation of the year just begun. I’m guessing the last thing you want to think about is IT security — but after last year, referred to by some as The Year of the Hack, by others as The Year of the Data Breach, IT security is something you simply can’t afford to ignore.
If you think your business is safe, think again: Risk and vulnerability aren't going away. In 2010, security vendor Symantec recorded over 3 billion malware attacks — and that’s just one vendor!
These days, to stay in business you need a comprehensive security plan that protects your networks, servers, databases, applications, and end-user devices. That plan is essential in rationalizing the security capabilities so essential to coping with the escalating pace of change in information technology and the ever-evolving threats IT faces.
I’m going to focus on IT security this month, because maintaining effective IT security has become complex enough that every organization needs expert help in designing, implementing, and managing a security posture that can protect the business. That’s something I know about, and I’m eager to share some of the insights and resources accrued by Quest’s experts. Because I like it when the good guys win.
